Project overview
You can find out about the latest available billboards, buy tickets, upcoming movies, pre-sales, see reviews, accumulate redeemable points, even buy your favorite snacks, all from the comfort of your cell phone.

Problem statement
With the constant release of films acclaimed by the public, wanting to go to the movies has become somewhat complicated task due to the complicity of buying tickets
taking into account that Caribbean has a web page available for the purchase of these this problem should have been solved, but based on the constant use of it, I realized the lack of efficiency of the web, resorting to the creation of an app to solve this problem.
Project goals
01
generate a more rewarding and comfortable experience for the user when going to the movies
02
optimize the process when going to the movies, thus helping to simplify the work of employees and the user experience
03
create a space in which the user can feel in community and can express themselves
04
give a better follow-up to the number of recurring users to the caribbean cinema
05
remake the online system that caribbean already has, improving it from my particular point of view, taking into account the opinion of the users
Research methods

How we got to this point?
Kick off
Starting off, I asked myself some initial questions. Who is our main user? What does the user need? Why would anyone want to use this app? How can we solve those problems? What is the scope we want the project to have?
After interviewing 5 participants to set up situations later, it became clear that their problems and goals were similar.

Number of tickets sold
Attendance at movie theaters in 2021 rose 45% compared to the previous year to 41 million viewers and the box office reached the figure of 251 million dollars, also 45% more than in 2020 and is projected to continue its rise. in the next years
With this in mind, it became clear that people's passion for cinema is growing.

The hook model
going to the cinema or watching movies are things that people think about at least once a day or a week. that's why i wondered
How could we take advantage of the weak points of people and the existing attachment to the world of entertainment to create a design that generates habits?
Based on the hook model, I created the following diagram to help me think about the habit building potential of my design.

User persona
I created a user persona based on the current or ideal customer, which was created based on research to identify different types of customers who might use the product, in a similar way.

Information architecture

Ideation workshop
Working on the initial designs, I began to come up with the initial concept of the design, this design brainstorming helped me quickly weed out the good and bad ideas.

Going into the design phase, I took into account everything that I had collected so far: the people, their pain points and the needs of each one.
I was able to get some heuristic feedback from users before starting the high fidelity design which helped me create some sketches.

wireflow
In this phase, my emphasis was on visual consistency and how my interface and interaction could serve the core functionalities and was based on a simple and feasible design for developers.

Ticket checking method
The app will have a ticket scanning method without the need for an external link to the email that will help optimize the process of entering the cinema for users.
Seat selection
simple seat selection that helps you know if the movie you want to attend has availability.
Invite or Send Tickets to Your Friends
Buy tickets for your friends easily so they can accompany you to the movies
Visual design
When deciding the visual style of the app, I kept in mind that the caribbean app should inspire wanting to go to the movies. Therefore, I created the mood board above where a dark and relaxed feel dominates the visual.
Mostly in black and red, the user interface despite being in dark colors does not create a feeling of dullness due to the outline with the images and the red buttons.

Web re-design
Based on the needs study of the project, I noticed a great lack of functionality in the web page, so I resorted to redesigning it, optimizing the purchase process from the web and improving its visual appearance.

The design is influenced by the new trends of the user interface of digital movie platforms, trying to create a sense of familiarization to the user

with an inclusive design with mobile phones for those who do not need an application still have easy access to their tickets from their phones
Future steps
| To continue insisting on the constant use of the application, one of the greatest influences is the compensation to the user through prizes for the use of the application, the idea of awards for the future is one of the main focuses
